A number of
photos of the BlackBerry 9780 had just leaked out recently. As of present, the
BlackBerry 9780’s launch is not yet officially announced, but this device is believed to be a refresh of the
BlackBerry Bold 9700. Some details about this upcoming device has already leaked this past few months, but lately more
pictures have surfaced and strongly suggests that it will be running the BlackBerry OS 6.
Basically, the BlackBerry 9780 is expected to carry many similar specs seen in the BlackBerry Bold 9700. Like the Bold 9700, this new device also sports a 2.44 inch screen that goes with a resolution of 480×360 pixels. Aside from this, the BlackBerry 9780 will also be powered by a 624MHz processor, which is exactly the same processor that powered the Bold 9700. However, some changes were also made to this upcoming device. The changes include an upgrade to a 5 megapixel camera with LED Flash and an increase in the memory capacity from 256MB to 512MB of RAM. In addition to that, it will also come with WebKit browser and BlackBerry OS 6, which will further enhanced its multimedia capabilities.
Previously, some videos showed that the BlackBerry 9780 will come with a black housing, however, the photos that leaked just recently shows a BlackBerry 9780 in a white housing. Well, whether it is black or white, surely both colors will be patronized by BlackBerry lovers out there.
Aside from the above-mentioned features the BlackBerry 9780 is rumored to include the following specs as well:
- Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
- USB 2. 0 ports
- 512 MB internal memory
- 32 GB external memory
- Standard Li-Ion battery
- Full QWERTTY keyboard
- GSM/HSPA connectivity
Some speculates that the BlackBerry 9780 will be making its debut by the month of October. And according to some reliable sources, it could possibly go to T-Mobile or AT&T upon its launch. As of present, RIM has not made any official confirmation as to the release date as well as the price of this device. So for now we’ll just have to wait for RIM’s official announcement and see for ourselves what the BlackBerry 9780 has to offer.
